Register for 2009 Mothers & ExCampers Weekend! (Oct.1-4, 2009)

September 9, 2009 ~ 09/09/09!

Can't believe it's been a month since our last update.  We have finished the Lost and Found (finally), had a few groups and getting ready for another group next weekend.  Many of you know that Katie Kovar is now working with us on a full-time basis and we are thrilled.  She will do some counselor recruiting, be our lifeguard for groups, write a monthly newsletter and keep us on our toes.  We mailed the first newsletter today, so please answer her with your news and we will add it to the next edition of "News from the Creek."    We are finally getting some much needed rain today and we are thankful for that.  October will be a very busy month for us with Mothers & ExCamper's weekend Oct. 1 to 4th and school groups for Science Camp the rest of the month.   Send your Mom to Camp in October ~ she will love it!

Brittany Silvers won a state-wide award for her essay, "An Underwater Adventure."  This award was given to only 240 7th graders in the state of Texas.  Great job, Brittany.

Barkley Bennett had a fabulous experience at Honey Creek this summer.  Her mom was shocked when they went to the beach and she got herself ready complete with sunscreen!  She also wants to take horseback riding this fall, thanks to Camp ~ Way to go, Barkley.

Jessie Hainley loves 3rd grade ~ everything, her friends, her backpack ~ everything.  We are not surprised, Jessie.
