Opening Day was perfect on Thursday and all the girls have moved in and decorated their bunks. The tribe officers were elected on Thursday evening and yesterday we registered for classes and did a little Camp Honey Creek shopping. We sold our new CHC t-shirts, caps and bubba kegs (sorry about your canteen bill).
Last night we had tribe meetings and the new campers learned their tribe songs and sponsors were elected. Today we had our first day of classes and everyone is learning their schedule. The experienced campers are doing a great job of showing the new girls where to meet for each class period and that makes our life so much easier. As I write this, the tribe officers are braving the heat during Rest Period to paint the tribe hills (it's a camp thing) in preparation for Opening Campfire this evening. The Indian princess will make an appearance as the girls gather on the Waterfront for the ceremony after dark.
This web page will be updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the term, unless something comes up, so keep checking for new photos. If you don't see your daughter every day, please don't panic ~ that simply means she is not in the classes where the camera is. Also, please click thumbnails to enlarge photos.
Camp Honey Creek is filled with giggles, screams and running girls and all is right with our world. It just doesn't get any better than this. Enjoy!
